Welcome to Mystery Writers of America's Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Founded in 2003, we're MWA's newest, and one of the fastest growing, chapters. Our members hail from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Monthly Chapter dinner meetings have featured speakers such as Lawrence Block, Laura Lippman, Katharine Neville and Jeffery Deaver, as well as FBI agents, investigative reporters, forensics experts, film critics and private investigators. Our Chapter has also hosted a dinner cruise, a tour of the Spy Museum, a movie night at a local theater, and co-hosted an event at the Library of Congress. In addition to MWA membership benefits, Mid-Atlantic Chapter members receive Capitol Crimes, the Chapter newsletter, and are eligible to join the Chapter e-mail list.
Mystery Writers of America, Inc. was established in 1945 by a dozen or so like-minded mystery writers for the purpose of promoting and protecting the interests and welfare of mystery writers and to increase the esteem and literary recognition given to the genre. For information on services and how to join, please visit the MWA website or send an e-mail.
